At the outdoor nature, the troops had to work hard to pass some challenges like setting up the camp, building rafts, starting fire, etc.

Kids from 5 to 17 years old enjoyed the river and jungle.

The summer experience was part of a three year project that will end next summer. Managed by two University of Portland professors, the purpose of the project was to gather field data related to water supply system and household sanitation system in San Antonio, Cortés, in western Honduras. NSF partnered with the Central American Branch of Water for People (WFP) an international ONG headquartered in San Pedro Sula. WFP sponsored five students from Universidad Autónoma de Honduras (UNAH), also located in San Pedro Sula, to join in the research with the U.S. students. The faculty and students spent four weeks at our cabins, Pulhapanzak became a base camp for visits to nearby villages and as an field office where data could be processed and archived.
